    Met Zone is applied at the time of planting or at early stage of growing of crops and forms a protective area around the root area. It attacks larvae, which have not produced much havoc, thus limiting the number of interventions.

    The field observations indicate that these applications made on the soil are effective than on the surface sprays especially in controlling early infestations.

    Integrating Cultural Practices for Better Control

    Experts emphasize that the cutworms cannot be completely controlled by one method. A combination of good agricultural practice with biological solutions has been found to be the best.

    It is necessary to prepare the field properly. Destruction of crop remains/weeds minimizes habitation areas of pests. To identify ear-infestations, regular inspection of soil should be implemented.

    The increased use of biological solutions means a change in agriculture in a broader way. Farmers are seeking ways in which they can be effective and yet environmentally friendly.

    The use of insecticide metarhizium anisopliae is in line with this change. It provides a means to manage pests without harmful effects on soil health and promoting long-term effectiveness.

    In contemporary agriculture, the priority is to be able to detect the problem in the initial stages, make proper decisions, and implement solutions that would not harm the soil eco system, but would rather support it.
